Celebrating america's first bank

OLD CITY (WPVI) -- History came alive in Old City Thursday to mark an historic milestone.

Actors depicting Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton were on hand to observe the 225th anniversary of America's first bank.

Those two were at odds over the merits of establishing a national bank back in the late 17 hundreds.

The bank was built, right here in Philadelphia, and is widely known not just for its historic role, but also for its unique architecture.
