Two suspects remain on the loose after a 22-year-old man was shot and killed in Philadelphia's Parkside neighborhood.

PARKSIDE (WPVI) -- Police have identified the 22-year-old man who was shot and killed in Philadelphia's Parkside neighborhood.

It happened before 2 a.m. Wednesday on the 4200 block of Viola Street.

Police on patrol heard gunshots in the area.

They arrived to find the Owen Joyner lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the head and chest. He was unresponsive.

Medics from a nearby fire station rushed to help. Owen was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police the shooting happened after the victim had pulled up in front of his home and went inside as a friend waited by the car.

When Owen returned to the car, investigators say, two gunmen wearing ski masks and white t-shirts emerged from a vacant lot.

Police say they opened fire as they chased the victim.

When he collapsed on the street, police say the shooters stood over him and continued to fire at point blank range.

Witnesses said they heard five or six shots before the suspects fled back into the vacant lot and disappeared.

Police are working to determine the motive for the shooting.

Two masked shooters remain on the loose.
