New treatment for cluster headaches
There's a new treatment for cluster headaches.

There's a new way to treat cluster headaches.

The FDA has cleared an easy to use, hand-held device called Gamma Core.

Patients hold it on their neck for 90 seconds.

It sends a mild electrical signal to the vagal nerve through the skin to help block pain.

Cluster headaches are recurring bouts of a severe headache on one side.

In clinical trials, the new device was shown to be effective for people who suffer from episodic cluster headaches.

It was not found to be helpful for people who have chronic cluster headaches.
