Cars smashed in Lawncrest, DUI suspected

LAWNCREST (WPVI) -- A number of cars were smashed after a wreck caused by an alleged drunk driver in the Lawncrest section of Philadelphia.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 6000 block of Tabor Avenue.

Investigators believe the 19-year-old man was driving his Honda down the street without headlights when he was involved in a crash with another car.

The impact caused both vehicles to then smash into four parked cars.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Police say the driver of the Honda admitted to drinking before getting behind the wheel. He now faces DUI charges.

His name has not been released.
