Temple University students gear up for the solar eclipse. Gray Hall reports during Action News at 7 a.m. on August 19, 2017.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A team of engineering students at Temple University are gearing up for the celestial event.

The students put the final touches on a high-altitude balloon on Friday that they plan to release into the atmosphere on Monday.

The team will be traveling to Russellville, Kentucky for the release, because that town lies in the path of totality.

Temple's balloon will live stream its journey to 100,000 feet as the eclipse is happening.
