STRAWBERRY MANSION (WPVI) -- A shooting outside a bar in the Strawberry Mansion section of the city led to a brawl that forced police to call for backup.

Police tell Action News a 23-year-old man was leaving a tavern along the 2600 block of Sergeant Street around 1:30 a.m. Saturday when he was confronted by another male.

Gunfire rung out and the victim was struck in the leg.

After the shooting, dozens of people poured out of the bar and started fighting.

In an unusual move, police called for a citywide assist to break up the fight.

There are no reports of any arrests.

The shooting victim is listed in critical condition.
