VIDEO: Mom causes daughter's scalp to bleed
A mother living in a Pittsburgh suburb faces charges for pulling her 6-year-old daughter's hair so hard it caused internal bleeding.

A western Pennsylvania woman has been jailed on charges that she pulled her 6-year-old daughter's hair so hard it separated her scalp from her skull and caused bleeding.

Online court records don't list an attorney for 25-year-old Brittany Ruck, of Conway, who faces a preliminary hearing Oct. 23 on charges including aggravated assault and child endangerment.

Conway police filed the charges Monday, but say they date to an incident on Aug. 27.

Police say Ruck pulled the girls hair apparently because Ruck was upset that the girl couldn't count to 12.

Ruck remained in the Beaver County Prison on Wednesday, unable to post $50,000 bond.
