VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova students left the Conley Center Saturday afternoon quiet, stunned, many in tears.
The Wildcats upset by Wisconsin.
The dream of the very difficult repeat is over.
"It's definitely disappointing. I didn't expect it at all," said sophomore Brittany Manchisi.
"We were thinking about flying to Phoenix for the Final Four, and we're just feeling defeated right now," said Abby Aldon.
It was packed inside for the game.
The students fixated on every shot - make or miss.
It was a slow start for the Cats that students didn't like.
"It's really stressful. I got my stress ball. I'm kind of freaking out," said sophomore Becky Rockwell.
But there wasn't a fan that thought they were going to lose.
"They have to win. They have to. We're here. We got 2016. We're doing this again. We're going all he way. We're gonna win," said sophomore Gloria Donou.
But it wasn't meant to be.
The nail-biting game would end Wisconsin 65, Villanova 62.
The Wildcats run at a repeat is done.
Though it's been a remarkable two-year run that everyone is proud of and also felt a part of.
"I'm so proud of them. I absolutely love them," said Manchisi.
"For us, you can already tell it's going to be quiet around here for a couple days. It's tough," said junior Zachary Hogan
