PHILADELPHIA - With Black Friday and Cyber Monday behind us and holiday lists still to check off, you may be wondering what kind of deals and sales are on tap in December.
Our friends at Deal News rounded up the best buys for the new month.
First, gift cards. Now is the time they tend to go on sale, with stores offering say a face value of $100 for say, $75 dollars, and stores offering free gift cards with purchases.
Next, 'tis the season for toys. December is when online retailers like Amazon start to slash prices on the hot toys. Last year they got down to 75% off and Toys R Us offered 40% off the second week in December with free online shipping.
If you missed the hot tech deals on things like TVs on Black Friday, Deal News says many of the incentives are being carried over through the weekend.
Also throughout the month, expect big discounts on winter apparel and outerwear
But don't forget about those post-holiday sales.
Christmas decorations are always best purchased after Christmas, with deals up to 80% off starting December 26th.
And for the whole month, know that December offers the cheapest pricing on champagne for your upcoming New Year's Eve celebrations.
But Deal News says there are some things you should wait to buy, like high end electronics. If you can wait a few extra weeks, prices drop in January when new devices are announced at the annual Consumer Electronics Show.
Also, wait until the very last second in December if you want a new car. December 31st typically features the best deals.
