CENTER CITY - The champion Philadelphia Soul is in the spotlight following its big win this past weekend.
At a rally at Philadelphia City Hall, Mayor Jim Kenney declared Wednesday "Philadelphia Soul World Champions Day."
The team defeated the Tampa Bay Storm 44 to 40 Saturday night in ArenaBowl 30.
The title is the third for the Soul, and the second straight in the Arena League World Championships.
After the city hall rally, the team was set to move on to an afternoon celebration at Chickie's and Pete's on Packer Avenue in South Philadelphia.
