PHILADELPHIA - There are new allegations against the popular travel website, Trip Advisor.
An investigation by the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel found more than a dozen Trip Advisor users who say their reviews about safety issues at some hotels were deleted, or never published at all.
That includes customers who say they were raped, or suffered a blackout out after drinking at certain resorts.
In one case, the website repeatedly took down a post by a Dallas woman who tried to warn others that she had been raped at a Mexican resort by a man in a security guard uniform.
Trip Advisor said the post was rejected because it violated the company's family friendly guidelines.
The Federal Trade Commission is now looking into Trip Advisor's business practices.
In response to all of this, the website says reviews about health and safety are important.. and the company has pledged to update its guidelines.
And of course all of this is coming just before Cyber Monday, when more hotel rooms are booked than any other day of the year.
