Cell phone use blamed for Delaware crash

PIKE CREEK, Del. (AP) - January 4, 2008 Police say 18-year-old John Willette was driving on Linden Hill Road near Skyline Drive yesterday afternoon when his car drifted into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with another car.

Two people in the second car and all four occupants of Willette's car, including his 11-year-old sister, were treated at Christiana Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

A witness said Willette was talking on his cell phone before the accident, and Willette was charged with inattentive driving and a seatbelt violation.
