Two children on their way to school were hit by a car in the city's Somerton section.

The accident happened just before 8:30 a.m. outside the Anne Frank School at Lott Avenue and Hoff Street.

Police say the kids, ages 7 and 8, darted out into traffic. Both were taken to Frankford-Torresdale Hospital.

Their injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

Parents say that corner is unsafe for children to cross the street because there is no crossing guard.
