Ticket dismissed against officer in fatal crash

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - January 10, 2008

Brett Guth was fired by the City Council following the May 30th crash, which killed 4-year-old Daviay Legrand and left a 21-year-old man with two broken legs. Furious residents later massed at the crash scene and threw debris at police.

Guth's lawyer says he hopes City Council members will reconsider in light of the judge's ruling. But City Council President Michael D'Amore says it's too late under the council's rules to rescind that decision.

Guth has also filed a grievance through the police union in an attempt to get his job back.
