Gang sweep in North Jersey

About two dozen suspected gang members were removed from Newark streets in a two-day sweep by FBI agents and local law officers. The FBI announced the arrests today, saying the suspects face weapons and drug charges.

Those arrested are believed to be members of a violent Bloods set called "793 Bloods." Authorities say the gang controlled heroin and cocaine sales in part of Newark's South Ward.

The 23 people arrested are in addition to 16 arrested in the past two years from the same investigation.

Three others remain at large.

The probe involved wiretaps, informants and undercover drug buys.
