Today is deadline for N.J. Primary registration

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - January 14, 2008

Forms can be obtained from county and municipal clerks' offices, motor vehicle agencies, state offices, and the Internet. Forms must be brought or mailed to the registration office in the county of residence.

Some offices are staying open late, and a Tuesday postmark is acceptable for those who can't get to a registration office.

The state has about 4.8 million registered voters. Some 2.8 million are not affiliated with any political party. Those unaffiliated voters can go to the polls on primary day, declare a party, and vote.
