Panoramic glass roofs becoming popular in cars

What's a kid to do when he or she tires of their iPod, movies or video games while riding in the back seat of the family car?

How about looking up? Through the window?

Panoramic glass roofs are becoming increasingly popular in new cars and crossover vehicles. They not only give a feeling of more space and head room, but they let in more light and let kids watch the rain from a puddle's-eye view.

As one expert puts it, glass roofs give "almost the benefits of the convertible without the drawbacks." Sort of a moon roof on steroids.

But expect to shell out some serious coin for glass on top -- $1,200 to $2,000.
