$2 bridge toll hikes possible

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - January 17, 2008

That would raise the price to $5. Smaller annual increases also are under consideration.

Motorists on the DRPA's four Philadelphia-area bridges, which connect New Jersey and Pennsylvania, pay only when they're heading west.

DRPA chief executive John Matheussen says the hikes would pay for bridge upgrades, painting, inspections and new cars for the agency's PATCO rail line.

Public hearings could be held in March.
