Former fire commissioner sentenced

LITTLE EGG HARBOR, N.J. (AP) - January 18, 2008 Forty-eight-year-old Edward Kluver, a former commissioner for the Little Egg Harbor Township Fire District No. 2 and former chief of the Mystic Island Volunteer Fire Company, was sentenced Friday in state Superior Court in Ocean County.

He pleaded guilty on Oct. 18 to official misconduct.

A co-defendant is to be sentenced Feb. 1.

Authorities say the pair used their official positions as commissioners to sign over to each other two trucks that were owned by the fire district.
