Play stoves, candles, board games recalled

January 17, 2008 - About 17,000 My First Kenmore play stoves, made in Taiwan, because a metal bracket connecting the door to the stove can cause a tip-over when the door is opened, posing a risk of injury to young children. Sears has received one report of a child receiving bruises after the product tipped over. The wooden play stove is painted pink and has six white knobs and a timer. It was sold at Sears and Kmart stores nationwide from September through November last year. - About 1,300 jar candles, made by The Wick & Petal Co. in the United States, because the candles can burn with a high flame, posing a fire hazard. Wick & Petal has received seven reports of the candles burning with high flame, some resulting in minor property damage. No injuries have been reported. The candles have a chrome lid with a white label. They were sold at select candle stores and craft fairs in Indiana from October through December last year. - About 185,000 round and egg-shaped decorative candles, imported by Pottery Barn and made in Hong Kong, because the candle's exterior coating can ignite, posing a fire hazard. Pottery Barn has received two reports of the candle's gold paint igniting.

No injuries or property damage have been reported. The recall involves egg-shaped and large and small round candles in three sizes. - About 38,000 Cranium Cadoo board games, imported by Cranium Inc. and made in China, because the surface paint on the die contains high levels of lead, which is toxic if ingested by children. No injuries or incidents have been reported. The recall includes board games with lot numbers 2007195 through 2007244. The games were sold at Fred Meyer, Kmart, ShopKo, Wal-Mart and specialty game stores nationwide between October 2007 through this month.
