Woman shot five times in head with BB gun

BELVEDERE, Del. (AP) - January 20, 2008 A 31-year-old woman told police she was walking on Route 41 in Belvedere around 8 p.m. Saturday when two women pulled up in a Ford Focus, got out and started arguing with her.

Police spokesman Cpl. Jeff Whitmarsh says one woman pulled out a replica handgun, fired at least five times at the woman, then got back in the car and fled.

The victim was taken to Christiana Hospital where five BBs were surgically removed.

Whitmarsh says detectives believe the motive for the shooting is domestic, but they are still trying to identify the woman in the Focus.
