Britney Spear's hometown wants her back

KENTWOOD, Louisiana (AP) - January 21, 2008

Residents of Kentwood, Louisiana, population 2,200, say they still love Spears, in spite of all her troubles. Convenience store employee Pam Wright says she cries every time she sees a story about Spears on TV.

She says if Spears comes home, "well get her right again." Mike Price of Nyla's Burger Basket, where Spears signed her first record contract, says Spears could use some home cooking and she needs to "come back where everyone loves her."

He's not kidding. Half of the Kentwood Historical Cultural Arts Museum is dedicated to local men and women who served in the military.

The other half is devoted to Spears. It includes her jacket from "The All New Mickey Mouse Club," her awards and a re-creation of her childhood bedroom.
