IMphilly Auditions

I. HOW TO SUBMIT AUDITION MATERIALS: To request a chance to audition, either (a) send a DVD, CD or VHS tape, 3 minutes in length or shorter, explaining why you should be selected to participate as a panelist on IMPhilly , or (b) send a letter, explaining the same, with an original photograph of yourself (no larger than 8"x10") , to:

Be sure to include your name, address, e-mail address (if available), phone number(s), your birth date (month/day/year) and your school's name with your submission materials.

II. ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for a chance to audition, you must be at least 13 years of age as of January 1, 2008, and no older than 18 as of December 31, 2008. You must also be a high school student and live within the 6abc viewing area (including Philadelphia and surrounding counties, southern New Jersey and northern Delaware).

If you are chosen to audition, you must provide parental permission to appear on the show, and may be the subject of a background check. If you are selected and over 16 years of age, you will need to provide a work permit. If you are selected and under 16 years of age, you will need to produce an employment certificate as issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor.

III. DEADLINE: Requests to audition must be received before 4 p.m., March 31, 2008. All audition requests and any other materials submitted in connection with the request or audition remains the sole property of 6abc and will not be returned or otherwise acknowledged.

IV. HOW AND WHEN STUDENTS MAY BE NOTIFIED: Submitters will be selected to audition based on their videos and/or letters stating why they should be a panelist on IMphilly. Selected submitters may be notified at any time during the 2008 calendar year.

Those selected to audition will receive an invitation to come to the 6abc studios to tape an audition. They will also receive a packet that includes a parental consent form, a consent to background check form, a certification that the student is eligible to work in Pennsylvania, and a confidentiality and release form. All items included in the packet must be completed and returned to 6abc before the audition.

Auditions may be judged based on criteria that may include, but are not limited to, the auditioner 's personal presentation, how well they communicate their viewpoint on issues, their comfort level in front of the camera, and their overall demeanor.

Audition tapes may be posted on 6abc.com for viewer input.

In any and all matters related to this audition, the decisions of the 6abc staff will be final.

V. RELEASES AND REPRESENTATIONS: By submitting any materials for consideration and/or participating in the audition process, submitters agree to be bound by the decisions of the 6abc staff, which are final in all respects.

By submitting entry materials for consideration and/or participating in the audition process submitters certify that such materials are original and created by submitter, that submitter has the necessary rights, permission and authority to submit such materials, and, if applicable, that submitter maintains a valid copyright in the materials.

By participating in the audition process, submitters agree to release WPVI-TV, its licensee, parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives and employees, as well as each of their respective successors, representatives and assigns (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all actions, claims, injury, loss or damage arising in any manner, directly or indirectly, from participation in the application for and/or ultimately the audition process.

Those who are selected for further consideration in the audition process as well as those selected to audition authorize the Released Parties to use their name, voice, likeness, biographical data, city and state of residence and entry materials in programming or promotional material, in any and all media, known or unknown, worldwide in perpetuity, if applicable, without compensation unless prohibited by law. 6abc is not obligated to use any of the above mentioned information or materials, but may do so and may edit such information or materials, at 6abc's sole discretion, without further obligation or compensation.
