3-car accident briefly shuts down I-495

WILMINGTON, Del. - January 25, 2008 The accident had I-495 Southbound closed briefly and then backed up traffic for about 40 minutes.

The three-vehicle accident was reported at 10:38 a.m. on the Christiana Bridge. Police initially closed all southbound lanes, but then opened the far left lane, backing up traffic for about 40 minutes.

I-495 finally reopened at 11:26 this morning.

Several minor injuries were reported in the crash.
