New Jersey drivers could face fines of up to $75 for failing to remove ice and snow from their vehicle before driving it.

A bill released Monday by the Senate transportation committee would require each driver to remove all ice and snow from their vehicle before driving it.

The measure would allow police to stop drivers who fail to clear the ice and snow and allow fines ranging from $35 to $75.

AAA Mid-Atlantic said a survey shows 67 percent of its drivers support the proposed law, which hasn't received Assembly consideration.
