Man shoots woman, kills self in Northwood

NORTHWOOD - January 29, 2008 It happened around 10 a.m. in the 1200 block of Haworth Street. Police say a man in his 20s opened fire on a 20-year-old woman, before turning the gun on himself.

The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital with gunshot wounds to her right and left hips. She was listed in critical condition.

The shooter was pronounced dead at the scene.

No names have been released.

The motive for the shooting is still under investigation.
