It happened around 9:00 p.m. at the McKinney Medical Center located at 7514 Franford Avenue, in the city's Mayfair section.
Detectives said the two men walked into the office armed with guns.
They pistol whipped Dr. Larry McKinney, police said, and robbed him and five patients of nearly $5,000.
Police said McKinney runs his office on a cash-only basis and the suspects may have known he had large amounts of money on hand.
Detectives are working on two suspect sketches.
The doctor and his patients weren't seriously injured.
