This igloo's not made of snow
NEW YORK (AP) - January 31, 2008 But he had
to saw off slices of blue Styrofoam, to show New York City school
kids how to build an igloo. The demonstration took place yesterday
outside New York's famed American Museum of Natural History. It
also came on a day that meteorologists reported this is the first
January in 75 years New York City hasn't had any snow. The
demonstration was part of a weekend devoted to the International
Polar Year. But the school kids didn't seem too disappointed by the
lack of real snow. One sixth-grader says it's fun to make things
with plastic foam.
