St. Joseph's beats Fordham 70-55

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - February 2, 2008 Tasheed Carr and Darrin Govens had 11 each for Saint Joseph's, which won for the 14th time in the last 16 games against the Rams. The Hawks also won for the 10th time in their last 11 games this season.

Marcus Stout scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half and Bryant Dunston added 18 for Fordham, which dropped its third game in a row.

Saint Joseph's led 39-25 at halftime thanks to 64 percent shooting, and the Rams never got closer than eight the rest of the way. They cut the lead to 46-38 on a 3-pointer by Stout with 12:52 left. But the Hawks responded with five straight points for a 51-38 lead.

Fordham pulled within 12 points, 57-45, on a basket by Stout with 8:05 remaining before Saint Joseph's pulled away.

The Hawks shot 51 percent from the field, including 8-of-15 from 3-point territory. Fordham hit 37 percent of its shots and was just 3-of-21 on 3-pointers.
