Polar Bear Plunge sets records

More than 2,700 people splashed in the ocean at Rehoboth Beach yesterday and raised at least $522,000 for Special Olympics Delaware.

Both numbers are records for the annual Lewes Polar Bear Plunge.

At the time of the big dip, the water temperature was 43 degreess -- frigid, but warm enough to tie a record high for the 17-year-old event.

More than 20,000 people looked on.
