Steven Voneida was found guilty in federal court Monday of transmitting communication containing a threat to injure.
Acting U.S. Attorney Martin Carlson says the Penn State-Harrisburg student threatened that he would someday "make the Virginia Tech incident look like a trip to an amusement park" in a posting two days after the April 2007 shootings.
Carlson says the posting also included a picture of shooter Seung-Hui Cho and a poem paying tribute to Cho.
Voneida's attorney didn't immediately return a telephone message seeking comment Tuesday.
A sentencing date hasn't been scheduled.
