Why do we mention relative humidity instead of dewpoint?

In the summer, we will show a map of the dewpoint temperatures around the area when the dewpoint is especially high. But in general, we just show the relative humidity as a percentage.

I agree that the dewpoint is the more relevant number most of the time, but by showing the humidity as a percentage, we can show things like the point at which fog forms (when the humidity gets close to 100%). This summer, be on the lookout for us to show the dewpoint temperatures on really humid days!
