Officers interrupt robbery, arrest teens

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - February 13, 2008

It happened around 12:40 a.m. in the 600 block of North Van Buren Street.

Police say officers saw a man holding his hands in the air and backing away from a group of teens holding him at gunpoint. When the teens spotted the police cruiser, they ran with the man's jacket, cell phone and wallet, and dropped a .22 caliber revolver as they fled.

The officers caught up with three of the five teens and arrested them. The three teens, ages 15 and 16, were each charged with first-degree robbery, possession of a firearm during a felony and possession with the intent to deliver marijuana.
