Two snowmobilers from New Jersey are dead following an accident at the southern edge of the Adirondacks, State Police said. Killed were Joseph Yoroshko, 28, of Pittsgrove, and Rebecca L. Brown, 26, of Malaga, police said. Another rider found their crashed sled along a snowmobile trail near the hamlet of Woodgate about 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

Yoroshko was driving a 2004 Artic Cat at a high rate of speed, failed to negotiate a curve and hit a tree, police said. He and Brown a passenger, were thrown. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

They left an inn in Woodgate about 10 p.m. Friday, police said. An autopsy was planned Sunday. Woodgate is 60 miles northeast of Syracuse.
