Neighbor arrested in stabbing of woman

BORDENTOWN, N.J. - February 20, 2008 Emergency crews responded to their apartment on Bradford Court in Bordentown Township on Tuesday.

Police believe they have the man responsible for the crime, and they didn't have to look very far.

Twenty-six-year-old Kevin White of Bordentown appeared in court by video hookup from the Burlington County Jail. He is charged with attempted murder in the brutal stabbing and slashing of 51-year-old Brenda Lanni.

The attack occurred inside Lanni's apartment in the Bradford Point Complex on Route 130. Authorities say White was living across the hall from the victim.

Lanni was stabbed multiple times in the back and chest and slashed across the throat.

Authorities say the 911 call was made by Lanni's 14-year-old son who arrived home from school and found his mother on the kitchen floor bleeding profusely.

White has a prior conviction for aggravated assault and two other open cases. For this attempted murder charge, his bail has been set at 250-thousand dollars.
