Update on deadly NJ Turnpike crash

BELLMAWR, NEW JERSEY - February 19, 2008

The crash on the New Jersey Turnpike left one person dead at about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The Jeep flipped over in the northbound lanes of the turnpike after hitting the concrete divider near the Black Horse Pike in Bellmawr. The driver was partially ejected from the SUV, and it was struck by another vehicle that was trying to avoid it.

The family of the victim, who is from Newark, N.J., has not yet been notified.

The accident wreckage was cleared just before 8 a.m., but traffic was still delayed getting past the scene.
