One of the area's newest butcher shops will be glad to get you real Japanese beef for only $179 a pound. You probably remember Derek Davis from his days as the hottest chef in Manayunk. Today, he sells ingredients and you do the cooking.

Davis recently opened Main Line Prime in Ardmore. It feels like a neighborhood grocery, but featuring only the best. The specialty: aged prime beef that looks a whole lot different from what you see in the supermarket.

Want even better? Davis imports genuine Kobe steak from Japan. It's $179 a pound, but you're paying for top-notch feed and more.

Other meats are available at lower prices. There's also wild-caught seafood, and organic produce as locally-grown as possible.
