Murder suspect admits to attempting another

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (AP) - February 22, 2008 Twenty-three-year-old Christopher Kornberger says he attacked a 49-year-old woman as she took a daylight walk through an Evesham subdivision. He says he stabbed her several times with a kitchen knife.

He pleaded guilty Thursday to attempted murder, aggravated assault, attempted sexual assault and a weapons charge.

It was the first time Kornberger publicly admitted an attack. He is serving an 18-year sentence after being convicted last year of attempted rape in Camden County.

His trial is scheduled to begin next week in the murder of Krista DiFrancesco, who was found dead outside her family's condominium in 2003 after a night out with friends.
