Hormone therapy alters mammograms

There is a newly discovered drawback to hormone replacement therapy. It can make reading a mammogram harder.

Doctors at UCLA have found that even short-term hormone use can make it hard to detect breast cancer.

The hormones make breast tissue more dense, increasing the chance of abnormal mammograms... And the chance of unneeded biopsies.

The researchers say it's further evidence women should use the lowest dose for the shortest time.
