Fire has leveled Big Mike's Italian Deli in Margate, New Jersey, and the apartments above the store. The blaze broke out on Thursday morning at about two.
Investigators say it looks like the fire started on a rear deck of the building on South Frontenac Avenue, and quickly ripped through the structure.
At one point five neighboring towns had sent crews to the three-alarm blaze. High winds combined with freezing temperatures to fan the flames, and make it very difficult to bring the fire under control.
For a while flames towered over the building and could be seen several miles away. Investigators say the building is a total loss. They are looking for the cause.
