Jimmy's retiring from Jack

February 28, 2008

Jimmy Bedford is retiring at the end of next month.

He's only the sixth master distiller in the history of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey.

He's been working at the Lynchburg, Tennessee distillery for 40 years and has been the master distiller for 20.

Bedford says he's done everything at Jack Daniel's, from running the still to helping prepare the mash.

Now, he has the final say on when Jack Daniel's is ready for bottling.

While he's retiring, Jimmy won't be far from Jack.

Bedford's farm is just about two miles from the distillery.
