Woman killed in Scranton house fire

SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - February 29, 2008 Assistant Fire Chief Paul Laskowski says firefighters found the woman in a first-floor bedroom. Her name has not been released.

Firefighters found flames shooting from the front of the wood-frame house when they arrived about 3 a.m. Friday.

Laskowski says the cause of the fire hasn't been determined. He says the flames spread to the second floor and the house has been destroyed.
