Student-athlete steroid testing

A legislative task force studying steroid use by high school athletes plans to review steroid testing programs in New Jersey, Florida, Illinois and Texas before submitting a report to the full General Assembly in June. The panel met for the first time last night. Task Force member and sports medicine physician Dr. Vince Disabella says there are warning signs that could signal to parents that their child is a steroid user. Those signs include weight gains, more frequent workouts, withdrawal from others, and increased aggression -- commonly called "roid rage."
