Deadly shooting in Kensington

KENSINGTON - March 2, 2008

Officers were called out to North Phillips and Westmoreland Streets around 8:30 a.m. There they found a man shot once in the chest.

Medics transported the victim to a local hospital where he died. He has not been identified.

Police have only said that he was in his 30s. The gunman is still on the loose.

Earlier in the weekend, three other people were shot in Kensington.

Two people were shot along the 1900 block of East Tioga Street in the city's Kensington section, at about 10 p.m. Saturday. A 26-year-old man was shot in the chest, and is in critical condition at Northeastern Hospital. A 24-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the foot.

A fourth person was shot in a separate shooting at F and Clementine streets Saturday night. Police tell us that a 23-year-old suffered a graze wound.
