Police say 21-year-old Michael Lapish walked into a police station and told officers he had stabbed a man in the left eye, choked him to death and set fire to his body.
The Berks County coroners office identifies the victim as 27-year-old William Baez-Cintron Jr. of Reading. The death has been ruled a homicide, but police have not disclosed a motive.
Deputy Coroner Gretchen Weyandt says authorities used fingerprints to verify the victim's identity.
Lapish is being held without bail on charges including first- and third-degree murder, assault, recklessly endangering another person and related offenses.
