Actress Bai Ling accused of shoplifting
LOS ANGELES (AP) - March 4, 2008 Ling tried to take $16.22 worth of items, said city attorney
spokesman Frank Mateljan. She faces a $250 fine. Her arraignment
was scheduled for Wednesday, when Ling could contest the
misdemeanor infraction or pay the fine, Mateljan said.
An e-mail message sent to Ling's agent was not immediately
returned.
Ling, who has appeared in such films as "The Crow" and "Anna
and the King," was arrested Feb. 13 after she was detained by a
store employee who summoned police.
She later told E! News that she was having an "emotionally
crazy" day because she and her boyfriend broke up right before
Valentine's Day.
She recently posted a message on her blog that she is shooting a
film in Albuquerque.
"Shooting and living in a movie is magic, only wish that my
love is here with me," she wrote.
