Groomer accepts plea deal in animal cruelty case

TOWSON, Md. (AP) - March 5, 2008

Fifty-three-year-old Celeste Rainone of Shrewsbury, Pa., accepted a plea agreement with prosecutors Tuesday.

Under the agreement, she agreed to withdraw her appeal of the prior convictions for animal cruelty and animal mutilation. A condition of her three years of probation in that case included the surrender of her grooming license. She also served more than 60 days in jail.

The second case involved injuries to a dog that was returned to its owner limping and with urine, feces and blood in his fur.
