Eagles release Takeo Spikes
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - March 6, 2008 The 10-year veteran played one season in Philadelphia and
finished second on the team with 139 tackles. Spikes missed the
final two games last year after having shoulder surgery.
Spikes is the second high-profile player cut by the Eagles in a
week. Defensive end Jevon Kearse was let go last Thursday after
playing four seasons in Philadelphia.
The Eagles signed All-Pro cornerback Asante Samuel and defensive
end Chris Clemons in the first two days of the NFL's free agency
period.
