When they searched the man's room, they found the body inside a large plastic container filled with dry ice.
Orange County deputy coroner Dan Akin says an autopsy of the body was "inconclusive" and that investigators are trying to identify the woman and determine a cause of death.
Police are investigating whether the hotel guest is involved in the woman's death.
