March 8, 2008 On a day packed with torrential rains and high winds, gusts brought down trees all over the region. Some fell on homes, causing thousands of dollars in damages.

Many side streets and low-lying areas are still flooded, making it a tough go for drivers. Most people ventured through the high water, which you're not supposed to do.

Saturday night, several thousand people were without power. PECO says 70,000 customers are in the dark. Atlantic City Electric says 15,000 are without power, and PSE&G have 33,000 outages. Delmarva also has some customers without power, about 7100 of them.

There are numerous delays and cancellations at Philadelphia International Airport because of the bad weather here at home, and because of snow storms in the Midwest. Before you head out, be sure to check the status of your flight.
